WESTLEY RICHARDS HAND DETACHABLE BOXLOCK GAME GUN.WESTLEY RICHARDSSXS DROPLOCKT897412 GAMODERN; C&R(ca 1925) Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 26" Bbls choked full and IC, are engraved with makers name on tops. Matted rib has extension. Case hardened hand detachable action (patent use number "3462"), features automatic safety, unusual crossbolt third fastener, side clips, and double triggers. Engine turned detachable locks are under hinged floorplate. Action is engraved with 80% coverage well cut large, shaded scroll. Makers name is on each side. Nicely streaked European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8" over leather faced Silver type pad. Side panels with drop points are checkered. Fancy pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter Deeley ejector forend has horn tip and Deeley release. PROVENANCE: The Timothy Scott Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain over 90% of an old re-black. Action retains a considerable amount, perhaps 30%, orig color. Stocks retain nearly all of an old oil refinish with a number of subsequent marks, checkering slightly worn and dirty.
