Round bodied underlever action has unusual firing mechanism hung from top strap, and features side safety, rifle selector on tang, pin type cocking indicators, and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with near full coverage large scrolling acanthus. This nicely shaded engraving surrounds hunting scenes with setter and pointer on left side, and bugling stag on right. Top of action is silver inlaid "TREFF" and "D. R. G. M." It appears the TREFF action was patented by Immanuel Meffert ca 1912. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. PROVENANCE: Consignors notes. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain well over 80% orig blue, thinning overall.
