FINE PRESENTATION ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON HAND-EJECTOR M & P 1905 4TH CHANGE DA REVOLVER.SMITH & WESSON1905 HAND EJECTOR50191138 SPCLMODERN; C&RCal. 38 Spcl. Blue finish with 4" rnd bbl, integral front sight, 2-line address & fixed rear sight. Mounted with 2-pc Smith & Wesson trademark embossed diamond checkered hard rubber grips numbered to another revolver. Revolver is beautifully engraved with full coverage foliate arabesque patterns that has fine stippled background. Most available surfaces on the backstrap and frontstrap are covered with diamond & dot patterns with feather patterns on top strap and each side of hammer slot. Bottom of trigger guard is engraved "C. H. FRANKLIN". Buttstrap has full coverage stippling around the SN. Engraving extends over the bbl root and the cyl with a wide border around rear edge of cyl. Accompanied by a notarized letter over the signature of Jerry Durgin, wherein he states that Clifford H. Franklin was a lifelong resident of Newport, ME who died August 6, 1955. According to Mr. Franklin''s widow, who gave this revolver to Mr. Durgin, this revolver was presented to Mr. Franklin upon his retirement.The S&W historian confirms gun was shipped Aug 19, 1926 to the John Jovino Co., NYC, as part of 10 units that were 4" bbls, blue, round butt with black hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all matching except grips. Overall retains virtually all of its crisp factory blue, showing only faint muzzle end wear. Trigger & hammer retain about all of their bright case colors. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. May have been fired, but if so very little. Grips are fine. 49882-1 JR182 (1,500-2,500)
