HANDEL ART DECO TABLE LAMP.Handel table lamp has domed shade with reverse and obverse painted Art Deco band encircling bottom edge of shade. Band consists of stylized reversed painted scrolls and gray borders encircling shade with obverse painted stylized green leaves and red flowers topping the reverse painted decoration. Flowers and leaves are done in heavy textured paint giving piece nice three dimensional feel. All against subtle chipped ice yellow background. Signed on interior edge "Handel 6500 Pat. Pend." Shade rests on an original Handel base with chipped ice design textured foot and stem giving way to simple riser with three socket cluster and pierced heat cap. Base is finished in dark brown patina and signed on underside with raised block letters "Handel". SIZE: Shade is 15" dia. Lamp is 21-3/4" t. PROVENANCE: From the Unreserved Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Brian Bojesen. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent. Base is very good to excellent with some very minor wear to finish. Re-wired with older plastic cord. 50361-5 DAB (1,000-1,500)
