Handel table lamp has reverse painted scene of large trees encircling shade against blue, pink and cream colored sky. Trees are further painted on obverse with heavy stylized foliage all against chipped ice background. Heavy obverse painting gives shade the appearance of cameo glass. Signed on interior lip "Handel 5889" along with artist initials. Shade rests on an original Handel base with cast tree decoration surrounding body of base, riser supports three socket cluster and pierced fleur-de-lis heat cap. Base is finished with rich brown patina. Signed on underside with applied cloth tag "Handel Lamps. SIZE: Shade is 18" dia. Lamp is 23" t. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent. Base is very good to excellent with some very minor discoloration and blistering to finish. Re-wired with appropriate cloth cord. 50489-13 DAB (6,500-8,500)
