HANDEL OBVERSE PAINTED TABLE LAMP.Handel table lamp has domed shade with obverse painted decoration of tall trees and grasslands at ponds edge with gray, white and blue cloudy sky in background with birds in flight. Signed on interior rim "Handel 6808" with artist initial "W", signed on attached metal aperture ring "Handel Lamps Pat'd No. 979664". Shade rests on an original Handel base with vertically ribbed round platform foot which leads into vertically ribbed stem with three light cluster and pierced fleur-de-lis heat cap. Base is finished in dark brown patina. Signed on underside with applied cloth tag "Handel Lamps". SIZE: Shade is 15" dia. Lamp is 21-1/4" t. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent. Base is very good with some wear and minor blistering to finish. Re-wired with appropriate cloth cord. 50356-2 DAB (1,500-3,000)
