MONUMENTAL DAUM NANCY LILAC VASE.Exceptional Daum vase has cameo lilacs, stems and leaves set against a light opalescent background. The lilac flowers are beautifully enameled in shades of red while the stems and leaves are done with shaded grays with gold detailing. Vase is further decorated with horizontal band at the neck with gold gilded and stippled background and cameo and enameled leaves and five petaled flowers done in rich purple, while the leaves and stems are gray with gold detail. Top rim and foot of vase have gilding. Signed on the underside with gold "Daum Nancy" with cross of Lorraine. SIZE: 19-3/4" t. PROVENANCE: From an Unreserved Texas Collection.
