COLLECTOR QUALITY WINCHESTER MODEL 97 FIELD GRADE TAKEDOWN 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN. WINCHESTER M97 964106 12GA MODERN; C&R Cal. 12ga. Factory marked 2-3/4 chamber, 30" plain bbl with sgl metal front bead. Factory marked FULL choke. 18 ring type round forend, takedown pump action. Uncapped, uncheckered pistol grip pistol stock with fluted comb with Winchester marked hard rubber buttplate. 13-3/4" LOP. Checkered hammer. SNs matching on frame and bbl assembly. PROVENANCE: The Jon Roark Collection. CONDITION: Excellent. This shotgun's metal work retains nearly all of its factory applied blue. Blue loss limited to very minor use. Bbl has 98+% factory finish with minor wear at muzzle and assorted minor handling marks. Slight scratching on underside of bbl from magazine tube during disassembly. Bbl has standard Model 97 markings on left and right side of the bbl. Winchester proof mark on top of bbl and receiver. Magazine tube retains nearly all factory blue with minor scratching. Wear marks on tube behind forend. Slide action bar shows wear from limited use. Receiver exhibits little to no carry wear. Blue loss on high sharp edges; scattered minor handling marks. Slight marks on front edge of receiver from takedown re-assembly. Screws are perfect and un-turned. Blued trigger and hammer. Forend retains all of its factory finish and is in perfect condition. Buttstock is virtually unmarked from use and retains 100% of its finish. Winchester buttplate is sharp and clean and unchipped. Gun functions smoothly and as it should. This is a collector quality Field Grade 50s era late production Model 97. 50387-18 TJW (600-1,000)
