WINCHESTER PRE-64 MODEL 70 SUPERGRADE BOLT ACTION RIFLE. WINCHESTER 70 SUPER GRADE 374342 243 MODERN Cal. 243. Third type rifle with 24" bbl, bottom of bbl double stamped "SUPER" forward of "243" and date marking "56". Hooded ramp front sight with 16B folding rear sight. Bolt is numbered to rifle and has jeweled body extractor and follower. Floorplate is marked "Supergrade". Monte Carlo cheekpiece stock with supergrade checkering. Features include black forearm tip, steel grip cap, checkered steel buttplate ans supergrade swivels. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Bbl has very good rust blue finish. Action and bottom metal have good finish showing slight edge wear with fading on bolt handle. Buttplate has blue loss and spots of pitting. Orig stock finish has area of raised finish and butt section with spots of dark staining around buttplate from apparent water exposure. Very good bore. 50595-46 DS (3,500-5,500)
