ENGRAVED REMINGTON MODEL 12A SLIDE ACTION RIFLE. REMINGTON 12A 72668 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal. 22 LR. 24" oct bbl, standard front and rear sights. Receiver is engraved with large vignettes of two running rabbits in field scene on left side and a squirrel in tree on right side, surrounded by arabesque scroll with a wavy line and punch dot border. Top of receiver is large arabesque pattern. Trigger guard and floorplate engraved to match and front bottom of receiver has SN engraved. Wood is handsome nicely grained deep honey colored walnut with bullet shaped forend and checkered pistol grip stock with Remington hard rubber grip cap. CONDITION: Very good, as partially refinished. Bbl and mag tube retain areas of strong blue with many patches going to plum. Assorted handling marks. Receiver is richly blued with loss on sharp edges and minor scratches. Takedown screw is gone to patina. Buttstock and forend appear to be excellent quality refinish with sharp checkering. Bright bore. A handsomely engraved Remington Model 12. 50426-32 TJW (2,000-2,500)
