Bbl flats are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Case hardened, scallop-backed boxlock action features non-automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved with 80% coverage medium scroll. "W & C Scott" is on each side. Floorplate is engraved "The Bowood". Nicely streaked and finely fiddle figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over checkered wood butt and has hand checkering with gold oval on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson push button release. IC & IC chokes. Drop at heel: 2" drop at comb: 1-3/8". Weight: 5 lbs. 6 oz. Maker's dark brown canvas case with leather trim, is lined in deep burgundy cloth with gold embossed black leather maker's label on lid. Case contains a pair of Orvis snap caps. CONDITION: Near excellent, showing light use. Bbls retain approx 95% orig blue with a few minor marks. Case hardening on action is silvering slightly on fences and sharp edges at bottom. Blue of floorplate, trigger guard, and top lever are very good. Stocks retain nearly all of their glossy oil finish, with a few minor handling marks and dings. Bores are near excellent, bright and shiny throughout. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are out of time. Case is good. 50744-2 DS (4,000-6,000)
