SPECTACULAR CASED COGSWELL & HARRISON AIR GUN WALKING STICK.COGSWELL & HARRISONWALKING STICKNSN100 BORECal. 100 bore. 2-pc takedown black finish air gun walking stick with loading rod and air reservoir pump. Nicely makers marked "Cogswell & Harrison London". Complete with loading rod and English fitted travel case with makers label in lid. 36-1/2" overall assembled. Occasionally known as poachers' guns, but this reference is highly unlikely due to the fact that these items were of great quality, very expensive, and the average working man could not have afforded one. The air reservoir, after having been filled, contained enough pressure for multiple discharges. Equipped with discreet front and rear sights and hidden trigger that becomes evident when walking stick is assembled and air reservoir is charged. CONDITION: Spectacular overall condition, having a very fine dark Jappaned exterior finish with brass threaded end caps for both sections. Very slight traces of use on handle and very minor traces of light use on tip from actually being used as a walking stick. Bore is excellent with fine rifling and absolutely no traces of abuse. Air pump with brass fittings has a somewhat armory brown finish with a T-handle attachment. Pump itself is in very fine condition showing slight traces of use, however, no damage or distress. English casing is in exceptional condition with all brass hardware intact and operational. Interior lining and partitions appear to have been professionally re-lined at some earlier date. Exterior is wonderfully finished as is typical of high grade English manufacturing. 50862-5 TDW (2,000-4,000)
