RARE CHAS. DALY SPORTING RIFLE IN 22 HORNET. CHARLES DALY BOLT ACTION 15009 22 HORNET MODERN; C&R Cal. 22 Hornet. This exceptionally well made and innovative rifle has 24″ tapered round bbl mounted with island rear sight base with 2 folding leaves marked for 100 and 200 yards. Rear of bbl is marked "Made in Prussia" "Krupp Steel" "22. Hornet" and "Charles Daly". These rifles were made for Daly by F. Jaeger & Co. of Suhl incorporating Jaeger's unusual and innovative tubular action with two centrally located locking lugs. Bolt with checkered panels and unusual horizontal flag safety. Bottom metal has beautifully machined and polished hinged magazine attached to floorplate which is held by checkered button at front. Action is fitted with double set triggers and Lyman rear sight. Nicely figured and lightly streaked European walnut stock with sculpted cheekpiece measures 13-5/8″ over ribbed horn buttplate. Pistol grip cap and forend tip are also of horn. Leupold 2-7x scope PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Very good. Fine factory blue finish with minor wear on sharp edges.
