PRAMESBERGER SIDEPLATED BLITZ ACTION OVER-UNDER DOUBLE RIFLE WITH EXTRA SHOTGUN/ RIFLE COMBINATION BARRELS, SCOPE AND CASE.PRAMESBERGERO/U DBL RIFLE1712.6316 GA/7X65R / 270 x 270MODERN; C&RCal. 16 ga x 7x65R. 270 x 270. 26-7/8" Double rifle bbls and 24-1/4" combo bbls. Both bbl sets are fitted with full length matted ribs, central portions milled away forming quarter rib and front base. Tops are engraved "FR. PRAMESBERGER - GOISERN". Rear portions are fitted with single standing leaf sights and claw bases. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with Ferlach proofs. Rifle bbls were made in 1963, and combo bbls made in 1961. Coin finished, sideplated, Blitz, double Kersten action features automatic safety, bushed strikers, and dbl triggers (front set). Action is engraved with near full coverage oak leaves in shaded backgrounds surrounding game scenes; bugling stag and pair of hinds on left, and buck roe deer with two does on right. Bottom of action is engraved with portrait of chamois surrounded by Pramesberger name and address. Trigger guard is of steel. Well marbled European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-3/4" over Silver type pad, and features right hand shadow line cheekpiece, and point pattern checkering with broad deeply mullered borders. Each bbl set has its own forend; double rifle is 3-pc, combo set one piece. Kahles Helia L 6X rail scope with heavy 3 post and crosshair reticle is in claw mounts which only fit combo bbls. John Hall plastic case has room for gun and both sets of bbls and scope. CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain over 80% of an old re-blue. Coin finish of action shows considerable darkening, especially on bottom. Stocks retain most of an old oil finish, possibly orig., worn through at grip and forends from normal hand wear. Checkering somewhat worn. Checkering on combo forend worn smooth on rear of left side. Shotgun bore is excellent. Combo rifle bore is excellent with slight erosion at throat. Double rifle bores are excellent. Action is tight. Set trigger works. Scope is excellent, optically clear. Case is excellent. 51040-1 MGM225 (4,000-6,000)
