SIMSON & CO SUHL LUGER. SIMSON LUGER 1925 4180 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. 4" bbl. "1925" date has been recently added above chamber (1925 production is in the 1-600 SN range). "SIMSON & Co/SUHL" on center toggle link. Most parts have eagle/6 proofs. Numbered parts on gun are matching down to the firing pin. Hold-open is unnumbered. Checkered walnut grips have full 4-digit SNs on backs. Eagle/63 proofed aluminum bottom magazine has numbers that do not match. PROVENANCE: The Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin Collection, Germany. CONDITION: Very good. Retaining 40% orig blue with areas of touch-up and 25% straw. Corrosion and/or light pitting overall can be visible above and below finish. Hold-open retaining spring is missing. Grips are well worn and oil-soaked dark. Some checkering has been recut. Magazine is excellent with little wear. Bore is worn with light pitting.
