EXCEPTIONAL 1934 MAUSER BANNER DUTCH CONTRACT P-08 LUGER. MAUSER LUGER 1937 2258 9MM MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 9mm. Mauser Banner with 4" bbl and "1937" date over chamber. Checkered walnut grips with matching numbers throughout and straw finish on trigger, magazine latch, safety and takedown latch. Exceptionally rare Dutch contract starting in 1934. Safety position is marked "RUST" with downward arrow indicating contract for the Netherlands. An extremely difficult pre-war military handgun to acquire. PROVENANCE: The Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin Collection, Germany. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, with excellent bore and mechanics. Matching numbers throughout with excellent screws and retains most straw finish on levers, trigger and magazine release. Crown U proofed with Mauser Banner marking on toggle, appropriately marked "Geladen" on extractor. The Dutch "RUST" marking is sharp and prominent.
