SCARCE AND DESIRABLE GERMAN 33/40 MOUNTAIN CARBINE DATED 1940.MAUSER33/405829B8MMMODERN; C&RCal. 8mm. German Code 945 manufactured by Waffenwerke Bruenn Brno Czechoslovakia. 19" bbl. 39" overall with early all milled components. Appears all matching with the exception of bolt. Stock has had a slight coat of finish applied but appears to be unsanded as all German proofs and inspection numbers are sharp and very legible. The 33/40 Mountain Carbine was one of the most treasured souvenirs of allied forces and most were modified into hunting rifles post-war. Orig configuration specimens are uncommon. CONDITION: Very fine overall, with most blue finish remaining with typical wear and finish loss at high points. Bore and mechanics are excellent. Stock is very fine with all markings evident with only minor nicks, scratches and period bumps and bruises. Buttplate and side heel plate have very minor period corrosion which is typical of this rifle. 51034-24 TDW (1,000-2,500)
