SCARCE JAPANESE 37 MM TYPE 94 ANTI TANK GUN (DEACTIVATED).JAPANESE942239037MMCal. 37mm, 60" bbl. Scarce example of the early WW2 Japanese Anti-Tank gun. Originally designed in 1933, this model performed decently in China and against Soviet Russian light tanks at Khalkin Gol in 1939, with eventually 3400 produced they were encountered by U.S. forces in the Pacific. Very few examples remain in any kind of displayable condition, with most rusting away on Pacific islands. This particular specimen was captured in the Phillipines, and brought back to San Francisco by a U.S. Naval officer and shipped in 1946 to his home on the East Coast. Original Bill of Lading included with this lot. CONDITION: Original wood spoke wheels remain serviceable with just slight movement at bearings. Metal cleaned and recently repainted. Matching SN's visible under the paint. Deactivated IAW BATF specifications by cutting a bore diameter hole in the barrel where it is not readily observable underneath the shield plate. This is a non-functional yet impressive display piece. 51081-1 jwk82 (4,500-6,000)
