EXCEPTIONALLY FINE CASED SMITH & WESSON THIRD MODEL LADY SMITH REVOLVER. SMITH & WESSON 3RD LADY SMITH 22456 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal. 22. 3-1/2" bbl. Blue finish overall with smooth walnut grips with gold deep dish medallions. Case colored hammer and trigger. 7-shot cyl with hand ejector extraction. Fixed front and rear sights, square butt frame. Accompanied by an exceptionally high quality, well fitting wood casing with red cotton linen lining that appears to be of the period. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Jim Baldwin. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with retention of virtually all blue finish with extremely minor edge wear and one small area of finish loss on side of cyl. Most all vivid case colors remain on hammer and trigger and smooth Smith & Wesson grips are quite excellent with most varnish and exceptional gold deep dish medallions. Matching SN's throughout inclusive of grips. Superb bore and mechanics. A very exceptional Lady smith. Period casing is very fine with very minor shrinkage cracks in top with excellent and tight corners and base, a minor water mark appears on top if rolled into a proper lighting. Hinges lock and spine are excellent. A small tray has been added for the storage of ammunition and includes 1 sealed box of UMC .22 short Less Smoke cartridges in its orig rounded corner box with exceptionally fine label and seal. 50975-2 TDW (1,250-1,750)
