DESIRABLE COLT MODEL 1905 45 AUTOMATIC.COLT1905441745ACPMODERN; C&RCal. 45 ACP. Colt's first venture into the 45 automatic pistol. The Model 1905 had a 5" bbl, 7-rnd capacity, and shot the new 45 rimless cartridge. Bright high polished blue overall with 2-pc checkered walnut grips with brass escutcheons. Peacock blue trigger and slide release and deeply case colored hammer. Accompanied by Colt factory letter indicating manufacture as January 31, 1910, and shipped to Montgomery Ward and Company, Kansas City, Missouri, and confirms current configuration. CONDITION: Fine overall, with most factory finish remaining on frame. Bore and mechanics are exceptional with most case coloring remaining on hammer. Strong peacock blue finish remains on the trigger, slide release and extractor. The slide has been subjected to slightly more wear, and finish is rather thin and is rather plum. The 2-pc checkered walnut grips are very fine with only minimal wear but have suffered no cracking or chips. Orig bright polish magazine is excellent with no dents or damaged lips. 51034-17 TDW (2,000-3,500)
