VERY FINE 1944 PRODUCTION REMINGTON RAND 1911 A1 PISTOL. REMINGTON-RAND 1911A1 1811774 45ACP MODERN; C&R Cal. 45 ACP. Dark grey green Parkerized finish overall with small parts being blue. Left side of slide marked "Remington Rand Inc.Syracuse.NY.USA". Has P proof on top of slide forward of rear sight. Left side of frame has prominent and still bright ordinance wheel, inspection with traditional "United States Property", and SN and model designation "1911 A1 U.S.Army". Left side of frame prominently inspected "FJA" for Frank J. Attwood with P proof at magazine release. Correct 2-pc Keys brown plastic grips with magazine manufactured by M.S. Little. Bbl is a commercial unmarked replacement. PROVENANCE: Gerard Ruth Collection, ex Alex Chauffe SR. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining most Remington finish with typical wear at muzzle and at high points of slide. When examined under high intensity light, finish on frontstrap turns somewhat plum with balance of finish being excellent. 51036-19 TDW (2,000-3,000)
