VERY GOOD 1943 PRODUCTION ITHACA 1911 A1 45 AUTOMATIC. ITHACA 1911A1 1245063 45ACP MODERN; C&R Cal. 45 ACP. 5" bbl. Parkerized finish overall. Slide marked "Ithaca Gun Co.Inc.Ithaca.NY" with large "P" inspection on top forward of rear sight. Slide traditional markings of "U.S. Property and M 1911 A1 U.S. Army" with SN. Small ordinance bomb inspection on right rear of frame. P proof inspection at magazine release. "FJA" inspection behind trigger for Frank J. Attwood. AA rebuild marking forward of slide stop indicating rebuild or re-inspection at Augusta Arsenal. Flannery manufactured bbl, Risdon Tool and Machine manufactured magazine. Checkered 2-pc walnut grips. PROVENANCE: Gerard Ruth Collection, ex Alex Chauffe SR. CONDITION: Very fine overall, with typical but minor finish loss on muzzle and high points of safety sights, grip safety and mainspring housing. Overall finish is somewhat thinning and when exposed to bright light is somewhat plum. The Augusta Arsenal markings do no always indicate a total rebuild, however, they would explain the 2-pc checkered walnut grips which are of earlier Colt manufacture. An overall nice honest Ithaca. 51036-3 TDW (1,800-2,500)
