FINE COLT 1911 A1 1944 PRODUCTION U.S. PROPERTY. COLT 1911A1 1636348 45ACP MODERN; C&R Cal. 45 ACP. 5" bbl with Parkerized finish overall. Traditional 2-line address and patent date markings with rampant Colt in center. Frame marked "United States Property M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" with SN below U.S. Property. Visible ordinance wheel inspection on back right side of frame. Left side of frame inspected "GHD" for Guy H. Drewry. P proofed below magazine release and violent proofed on trigger guard. Proper 2-pc wide ring Colt plastic grips with appropriate trigger, hammer, safety and mainspring housing. Fine condition 7-rnd magazine manufactured by Risdon Manufacturing Co. PROVENANCE: Gerard Ruth Collection, ex Alex Chauffe SR. CONDITION: Very good overall with most factory finish remaining with typical slide wear at muzzle and on high points of frame with a small area of pitting on right side above address. Frame has light holster wear on front of frame extension and typical finish loss on high points such as safety, front of trigger guard and at lanyard loop area.
