Letter S (the commercial sale mark) stamped inside the slide and frame indicating unsold commercial Government Model pistols transferred by Colt to their existing Military contract. Manufactured 1943 and inspected by Guy H. Drewry, Lt. Col. For issue during WWII conflict. Accompanied by 5 additional period and earlier mags. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine near new condition, retaining most all of its dark orig phosphate finish with only the slightest traces of slide and edge wear from being lightly used and inspected. Bore and mechanics are as new. Grips likewise are sharp and near new. Government acceptance ordnance wheel is still bright.
