EXCEPTIONALLY FINE FACTORY ENGRAVED SAVAGE MODEL 1907 TO CAPT. W.L.FOLEY OF HOUSTON, TEXAS. SAVAGE 1907 21955 32 MODERN; C&R Cal. 32 ACP. Brilliant high polish commercial blue finish with vivid case colored trigger. Factory engraved to Capt. William L. Foley, a prominent merchant of Houston, Texas, who operated the W.L. Foley Dry Goods Co. from 1896 until his death in 1925. On left side of upper frame his name being engraved and surrounded by a small floral scene. 2-pc hard rubber Savage monogrammed grips. Rnd safety lever with wide serrations and burr type hammer.Smooth magazine release with no knurling and early single slot unmarked Savage all blue magazine. Accompanied with a factory letter indicating that this firearm was shipped, factory engraved to the original consignee entered as Capt. W.S. Foley and it was shipped May 12, 1910. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine overall condition, with most all of the Savage bright polished commercial finish remaining with slight finish loss at high points of slide serrations and slight loss from holster wear on muzzle. Bore and mechanics are exceptional. Trigger retains virtually all of its proper bright vivid case colors. A very nice Savage Model 1907 Type 2. This is a very interesting gun with Texas association and additional research could be quite fruitful. 50475-1 TDW (3,000-5,000)
