INLAND U.S. 30 CARBINE T-3 WITH COMPLETE INFRARED SNIPER SCOPE IN ORIGINAL BOX.INLANDT-3 M1 30 CARBINE0078630 CARBMODERN; C&RCal. 30 carb. Inland receiver in correct SN range for second grouping of T-3 carbines. Low wood stock exhibits large cross cannon proof on right side and is also Inland marked with "IO" cartouche in sling recess as well as marked on wood of four rivet hand guard. Bbl is also Inland Motors, however, "P" proof mark is forward of Type-C band with bayonet lug with small "A" within circle on right side. Markings on underside of bbl as well as round bolt, and smooth "M" mark mag catch indicate this was an arsenal re-build. No mag present, flip type safety. Type-B slide marked with drawing number "7160091" and "K". Trigger housing is Inland and so marked on right side viewed from 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock. Included in this lot is an orig set No. 1 infrared sniper scope, as well as orig unused in the box battery and unopened battery rack. Consignor states that when he purchased this, the former owner had transistorized this set and it works, however, consignor also stated he has never attempted to operate it. Set includes; fuses, 3 spare bulbs, orig carrying case and August 1955 operation and maintenance instructions as well as a web tool pouch with specialized tools for servicing the scope. Carbine bracket also included within orig wood carrying case. Carbine receiver marked on left side "U.S. CARBINE / CAL. 30 T-3". Flash hider marked "HIDER-FLASH-M3-SA". Stock also exhibits number "137" at bottom of pistol grip. PROVENANCE: From High Condition Collection of Discerning U.S. Military Rifle Collector, Offered Without Reserve. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish of rifle extremely fine to near excellent metal finish with only some high edge wear with loss of finish most noticeable where the slide rides the receiver and at the muzzle. Stock has no metal plate above trigger guard and has several dings and handling marks, but still is an attractive stock on this carbine. Orig WWII tan web sling rates good or better with light corrosion on slings, steel parts, and lift the dot snap displaying brass with some corrosion staining in evidence. Bore is shiny and bright with some light frosting more pronounced towards the muzzle. Infrared scope in excellent condition with component parts appearing un-issued, near perfect orig finish. Outer lens un-cracked which is extraordinary. Battery and battery rack still new in boxes with battery rack still sealed. Sets like this are seldom found and to find an infrared scope set in this condition is truly extraordinary, when paired with a properly marked and numbered receiver this is a fantastic opportunity for the WWII Military collector. 50908-9 JWK76 (4,000-6,500)
