NICELY APPOINTED PERUGINI & VISINI SINGLE SHOT BREAK ACTION STALKING RIFLE WITH SCOPE AND CASE.PERUGINI VISINISINGLE SHOT1604243 WINMODERNCal. 243 Win. 23-5/8" Mono-bloc bbl is fitted with matted quarter rib holding flip-up rear U-notch sight, and claw scope bases. Matching tall front ramp holds silver bead. Top of bbl is engraved with makers name and address. Side of bbl in front of front claw base is gold inlaid "Construito per Joseph N Bellino". Bottom of mono-bloc and bbl are stamped with 1988 Italian nitro proofs, and SN. Nicely filed, low profile, coin finished, scallop-backed, boxlock action features non-automatic safety and dbl set triggers. Action is engraved with full coverage well cut large open attenuated scroll surrounding bulino game scenes of animals suitable as quarry using this rifle; pronghorn on left, white tail deer on right, and a fine quartering portrait of a wolf on bottom of action under makers name. Engravers signature Rizzini is on trigger plate. Single beaded trigger guard has scroll on bow and SN on tang. Nicely marbled European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over Silver type pad, and features right hand shadow line cheekpiece, and typical point pattern checkering at grip. P & V logo flanked by two unicorns, is in gold inlet into bottom of grip. Matching splinter schnabeled forend has Deeley type release. Bausch & Lomb 1.5 - 6 X scope with duplex reticle is in claw rings, rear with windage adjustment. Drop at heel: approx 2-1/4", drop at comb: approx 1-5/16". Weight without scope: 7 lbs. 8 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". Quality tan leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli, is lined in green cloth, and is french fitted for action, bbls, and scope. An open compartment holds silver-plated hip flask engraved with portrait of snarling mountain lion by Rizzini, and dated '88. P & V name and address are at bottom. Opposite side is engraved with crest of "JNB" surmounted by a knight's helm surrounded by foliage, all over Latin inscription, "hominum divomque voluptas" (and men pleasure). Hinged covered compartment contains a rubber backed leather sling with detachable swivels. CONDITION: Excellent, showing evidence of limited field use, with a few minor marks in orig factory finishes. However rifle does not appear to have been fired more than a few times. Mechanically crisp. Scope is excellent. Case shows a number of light scuffs in exterior leather. Handle is excellent. Interior cloth shows some light rubs and soiling.
