BEST QUALITY JOHN RIGBY (CA) SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER OVER-UNDER PIGEON OR CLAYS GUN WITH CASE.JOHN RIGBYOU400512 GAMODERNCal. 12 ga. 3" Chambers. 30" Mono-bloc bbls with matted, ventilated rib, and vented side ribs, are gold inlaid in Old English script "John Rigby & Co" and engraved "PASO ROBLES, CA" on top left. Breech ends have 4" triangles of large open shaded scroll. Robust, case hardened, low profile, OU action features sidelocks with traditional Rigby dipped top edge, non-automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold), double Kersten type fastener, slight reinforce to top of bar which is somewhat rounded, as well as single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved with semi-relief large open scrolling acanthus in open stippled ground within some geometric borders. Rigby's famous "RR" logo is inlaid in gold on bottom. Lockplates have matching scroll but not in relief, surrounding "John Rigby & Co" in flush inlaid gold English script on each side. Engravers signature "G RUDOLPH" is on right action bead. Blued top lever and trigger guard have matching scroll. English script initials "GBM" (Geoff Miller ?) are gold inlaid on trigger guard bow. Tang extends to engraved steel grip cap. Very finely marbled and nicely stump figured, dense European walnut extreme pistol grip buttstock measures 15-1/4" over black Decelerator pad. Well cut point pattern checkering with mullered borders is at semi-diamond hand with right hand palm swell. Matching full field forend has Deeley type release. Bore diameter: top -.727, bottom - .727. Bore restrictions: Screw chokes. Drop at heel: 1-13/16", drop at comb: 1-1/4". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 9 lbs. 2 oz. LOP: 15-1/4". Aluminum Americase with black Cordura cover is lined in royal blue velvet, and has Rigby logo and information embroidered in lid. A lift-out tray holds bbl assembly, and bottom compartment contains 7 Rigby marked choke tubes with spanner in red plastic containers. Two other tubes are in bbls. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain 98-99% orig blue with some minor thinning on vent rib and a small rub mark from forend. Action retains nearly all of its rather thin case hardening color, lightly silvered on sharp edges. Stocks retain nearly all of their orig hand rubbed oil finish, with one or two marks. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Trigger seems to work. Case is excellent with a few minor scuffs and compressions. At the end of its production, this gun retailed in excess of $47,000.00. 50819-4 MGM190 (10,000-16,000)
