SUBLIME 28 BORE FLLI RIZZINI "R1-E" SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH EXQUISITE ENGRAVING BY BREGOLI. F.LLI RIZZINI SXS R1-E 1830 28 GA MODERN Cal. 28 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. Fratelli Rizzini is renown for producing some of finest firearms made in the world today, with annual production around 12 guns. This exquisite small bore example has beautifully struck 26" chopper lump bbls engraved "Flli Rizzini - MADE IN ITALY" on narrow, swamped game rib. Bbl flats are stamped with 1984 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Beautifully filed, small sized, coin finished, sidelock action features non-automatic safety (SICURA engraved) and single non-selective trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with exceptionally well cut, large, open scroll with acanthus highlights, with interesting tendrils and a few small floral bouquets interspersed. Makers name does not appear on action or lockplates, but is stamped on water table. Engravers signature "Bregoli" is on trigger plate. Matching trigger guard has very small bow. Exhibition quality, wonderfully marbled and figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/8" over checkered wood butt. Very cleanly cut, borderless point pattern checkering wraps over top of diamond grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Iron is stamped with SN, and engraved "EJECTORE" "BREV" "Rizzini". Bore diameter: left -.565, right - .565. Bore restrictions: left - .032 (full), right - .019 (mod). Wall thickness: left - .024, right - .030. Drop at heel: 2-1/4", drop at comb: 1-3/8". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 4 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 14-3/8". PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, very near to new, appears unfired since proof, with only a few very light handling and assembly marks in wood and metal, most notably a 1/2" scratch on right bbl approx 8" from breech end, and another 2" from breech on left bbl.
