SELDOM SEEN FLLI BERTUZZI ARIETE SIDELOCK SELF-COCKING HAMMER EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE.BERTUZZISXS HAMMER592020GAMODERNCal. 20 ga. 29" Chopper lump bbls with slightly swamped narrow game rib, are engraved "ARMI" with makers name "Flli BERTUZZI" in gold, as well as "GARDONE V.T." on side of left bbl. Bbl flats are stamped with 1992 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Importers name and address (WLM & Co Westlake Village, CA) are engraved on bottoms. Coin finished action with nicely filed fences is fitted with bar locks sporting round bodied serpentine hammers with tall spurs. Action also features non-automatic safety (S engraved) and dbl triggers (front articulated). Action and lockplates are engraved with traditional British style rose and scroll. "ARMI Flli BERTUZZI" is on left side of action and "ITALY" "GARDONE V. T." are on right. This well cut scroll surrounds interesting Bulino portrait of pair of pointers in mountainous setting on bottom of action. This portrait is signed with initials "GP" (Gianfranco Pedersoli ?). The engraver responsible for scroll, "Bernardelli", signed the trigger plate. Single beaded trigger guard is also scroll engraved. Finely marbled and lightly stump figured flesh toned European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over checkered wood butt with scroll engraved steel heel and toe plates, and features drop points, as well as well cut, closely spaced, point pattern checkering at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend with Anson release has large gold Bertuzzi crest inlet into central uncheckered diamond. Bore diameter: left -.625, right - .625. Bore restrictions: left - .023 (Imod), right - .016 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-3/16", drop at comb: 1-3/16". Cast: neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 3 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". Good quality tan leather case with stitched leather corners is lined in burgundy cloth, and has gold embossed black leather Bertuzzi label in lid. Case contains 2-pc rosewood and brass cleaning rod, square oil bottle, and a pair of snap caps. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, appears essentially unfired since proof, with only a few of the lightest of handling and assembly marks in all fine wood and metal finishes. Mechanically crisp. Case has some minor marks and scuffs in exterior leather. Straps and handle are fine. Interior cloth is very fine with some very light rubs and soiling. Accessories are excellent.
