TOP OF THE LINE ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI JOREMA ROYAL DELUXE OVER-UNDER PINLESS SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE/ DOUBLES TRAP GUN WITH SUPERB RELIEF ACANTHUS AND BULINO DOG SCENES BY GALEAZZI, WITH CASE. ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI O/U 760 12GA MODERN Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. Two sets of demi-bloc bbls, one single trap 33-3/4" bbl, another set for double trap or clays is 30". Both are fitted with matted, ventilated ribs; singles trap set raised and with "ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI" in gold on riband surrounded by scroll on breech section. Makers name is on left side top bbl of OU set. Bottom flat is stamped with 1986 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Coin finished, well filed, low profile, OU action fitted with pinless sidelocks features non-automatic safety (SAFE engraved) and single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved with near full coverage very well carved, relief medium scrolling acanthus. This fine acanthus scroll surrounds bulino dog and game scenes by A. Galeazzi, whose signature is at extreme right of scene on right lockplate. Left plate depicts a Springer spaniel standing on spit of land surrounded by marsh, larger trees in background, watching while a pair of mallards take flight. Right lock portrays a pair of golden retrievers watching as a trio of ducks take flight from bank of river. Scene on bottom of action is a fine face-on full portrait of a Brittany spaniel. Makers name is inlaid in gold on bottom of forend iron, and "42" (significance unknown) is in gold on top strap under lever. Relief scrolling acanthus extends to single beaded trigger guard which has SN gold inlaid on tang. Finely marbled and stump figured European walnut extreme flared pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over black Decelerator clays pad. Closely spaced borderless point pattern checkering is at diamond grip with right hand palm swell. Gold monogram "IBR" (?) is inlet into toe line. Each bbl set has its own matching semi-beavertail one piece forend with Anson type release. Single Trap BBL: Bore diameter: .735. Bore restrictions: .036 (full). Drop at heel: 1-5/8", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 9 lbs. 1 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". OU BBLS: Bore diameter: top -.725, bottom - .724. Bore restrictions: top - .022 (mod), bottom - .038 (full). Drop at heel: 1-7/8", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 8 lbs. 7 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". Brown leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli, is lined in purple velvet, and has brown leather A&S label stitched into lid. Case is semi french fitted for action and both sets of bbls, and contains straps, snap caps, and a striker bottle with a pair of spare mainsprings and strikers. CONDITION: Excellent, very close to new, with only the faintest of handling and assembly marks on all metal and wood surfaces, with little evidence of firing since proof, with very faint firing halos on breechface. Mechanically crisp. Case leather has a few minor rubs and scuffs. Interior has some light compressions. An exemplary dual purpose target gun, nicely appointed. 50819-14 MGM185 (28,000-38,000)
