20 GAUGE FERLIB "F - VII SIDEPLATE" SHOTGUN WITH GOLD GAME SCENES BY BREGOLI. FERLIB SXS SIDEPLATED BOXLOCK 33655 20 GA MODERN Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 27" Dovetailed bbls with hand matted concave game rib are engraved "Libero Ferraglio Ferlib Italy" on top of left bbl. Bbl flats are stamped with 1986 Italian nitro proofs, and with bird logo. Coin finished, sideplated, boxlock action features non-automatic safety (S inlaid in gold) and dbl triggers (front "loose" to minimize discomfort to trigger finger when firing rear trigger). Action is engraved with sprays of acanthus in small scroll background surrounding Bulino game scenes with major subjects flush inlaid with gold; pair of snipe swoop into marsh on bottom of action under makers name and address on arch. Left plate and side of action depict a flock of mallards settling into marsh. Right plate and action feature five gold quail flying over cropland. Acanthus and scroll is on trigger guard bow and tang, with SN on banner. Engravers signature, "A. Bregoli" is on trigger plate. Well marbled and somewhat figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-5/8" over checkered wood butt, and features drop points, as well as closely spaced, borderless, point pattern checkering on diamond hand. A vacant silver oval is on toe line. Matching long splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.629, right - .629. Bore restrictions: left - .026 (full), right - .019 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-3/8", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 5 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 14-5/8". PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of little field use, with a number of minor marks and light scratches on factory finishes, most notably a few fairly heavy and deep marks on side of right bbl, with an area touched up about 5" back from muzzle.
