FINE 28 GAUGE ARMAS GARBI MODEL "103 A" SPECIAL WITH SHOTGUN "PRESTIGE" ENGRAVING.GARBISXS 103A SPL PRESTIGE27-03-014-0528 GAMODERNCal. 28 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 30" Chopper lump bbls are fitted with narrow, matted, concave game rib. Tops of bbls are engraved with makers name and importer (William Larkin Moore), as well as grade. Bbl flats are stamped with Spanish nitro proofs. Coin finished sidelock action is nicely rounded and features non-automatic safety, bushed strikers, and dbl triggers (front articulated). Action and lockplates are hand engraved in "Prestige" style with large acanthus swags surrounding couples and triplets of blossoms in small scroll background. "ARMAS GARBI" "EIBAR" are on scrolled ribbon on bottom of action. SN is on trigger guard tang. Obviously special order, wonderfully marbled and figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/4" over checkered wood butt, and features point pattern checkering with mullered borders. Matching small beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.543, right - .544. Bore restrictions: left - .018 (mod), right - .026 (full). Drop at heel: 2-5/16", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Cast: approx 1/4" off. Weight: 6 lbs. 5 oz. LOP: 14-3/4". PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, close to new, with a few light handling and assembly marks in wood and metal, most notably a thumbnail sized shallow dent on bottom of forend near tip. Mechanically crisp. This model has a current suggested retail of over $21,000.00, without almost $5000.00 extra for "Prestige" engraving.
