RARE 20 GAUGE "REGENT DALY" BOXLOCK OVER-UNDER SINGLE TRIGGER EJECTOR GAME GUN IMPORTED BY HEINEN OF CHICAGO, WITH EXTRA BARRELS. HEINEN- REGENT DALY OU REGENT 170 20 GA MODERN; C&R; IVORY Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 28" and 30" Demi-bloc bbls denoted by "HB I" and "HB II" on rear lumps, are fitted with solid matted ribs, gold inlaid "Regent Daly" at breech ends. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with German imperial proofs, steel type (Boehler Antinit), and makers mark "WSch" (Schuler). Case hardened, double Kersten, scallop-backed, OU action features automatic safety (S inlaid in gold), and single selective trigger. Action is very finely engraved with near full coverage very well cut, Germanic style, large, scrolling acanthus with stippled background, which surrounds vignettes of game; a trio of ducks is in swamp on left, four snipe are in similar environment on right, and a covey of quail is in meadow on trigger plate. A hawk stoops upon a flying snipe on trigger guard bow. Tang is engraved "A. H. Heinen Chicago" and with SN. Very finely fiddle figured and nicely marbled European walnut steel capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8" over brown Decelerator pad. Side panels are checkered. Grip is checkered in point pattern with line borders. A gold shield engraved with the monogram "HB" is on toe line. Matching 3-pc forend has Deeley release and bottom piece fits both bbl sets. BBL SET "HB I" 30": Bore diameter: top -.630, bottom - .630. Bore restrictions: top - .030 (full), bottom - .028 (full). Wall thickness: top - .030, bottom - .027. Drop at heel: 2-1/2", drop at comb: 1-3/8". Cast: approx 1/2" off. Weight: 6 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 14-1/8". BBL SET HB II 28": Bore diameter: top -.625, bottom - .625. Bore restrictions: top - .021 (mod), bottom - .017 (mod). Wall thickness: top - .032, bottom - .029. Drop at heel: 2-1/2", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Cast: approx 1/2" off. Weight: 6 lbs. 10 oz. LOP: 14-1/8". Twin ivory bead sights. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, as partially refinished. Bbls retain essentially all of what appears to be orig blue, with a number of scratches and assembly marks, along with one or two minor dings. Action retains approx 70 - 80% orig case hardening color, silvered on high edges and around bottom from normal hand wear. Stocks retain over 90% of their orig finish with a few light scratches and a bit of oil rubbed in as maintenance. Checkering is very lightly worn, and has a few compressed diamonds. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny throughout. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are out of time. Trigger seems to work. Heinen imports come in a variety of types and sizes, and all are scarce. 50594-60 MGM109 (9,500-14,500)
