SEMPERT & KRIEGHOFF "TRUMPF" BLITZ ACTION DRILLING WITH SCOPE.SEMPERT & KRIEGHOFFDRILLING2189616/16/7X57RMODERN; C&RCal. 16 ga x 16 ga x 7x57R. 2-1/2" Chambers. 23-5/8" Bbls are fitted with full length, flat, matted rib holding pop-up U-notch rear sight. Dovetailed scope bases are screwed on. Bbl flats are stamped with Nazi era German proofs with proof date of 6/44. Coin finished blitz action features rear side safety, Krieghoff sliding rifle cocking mechanism on top tang, pin type cocking indicators, crossbolt third fastener, side clips, bushed shotgun strikers, and dbl triggers (front set). Action is engraved with 50% coverage well cut scroll surrounding game scenes; red stag on left side, and roe buck on right. Makers name and grade are in arched device on bottom of action. Lightly figured and streaked European walnut starburst horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-3/4" over ribbed horn buttplate, and features right hand cheekpiece and skip line point pattern checkering at grip. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Unertl 2-1/2 X (?) scope with crosshair reticle is in aluminum rings. Bore diameter: left -.667, right - .667. Bore restrictions: left - .032 (full), right - .028 (Imod). Wall thickness: left - .040, right - .033. Cast: neutral. Weight with scope: 7 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 13-3/4". CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain approx 80% of what appears to be orig blue, thinning overall, with numerous light marks. French grey of action is excellent with silver highlights. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their orig finish with numerous marks and light scratches, checkering slightly worn. Shotgun bores are very fine, right lightly frosted. Rifle bore is fine with one or two pits toward breech end. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. There are a number of additional holes drilled in rib, and there are some incipient stress cracks in bbl channel of forend, as well as one 2-1/2" long crack at center rear of butt on right side. 50746-1 MGM244 (4,000-6,000)
