PARKER "AHE" ALL OPTION TARGET GUN. PARKER BROS SXS AHE 239063 12 GA MODERN; C&R; IVORY Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 1-1/2 Frame. 28" Bbls are unmarked on raised, matted, flat, ventilated rib. Bbl flats are stamped with Ilion marks with date code PE (June 1936), and later repair date code "XJ3 - Dec 1940) and engraved with an owners name "L. V. Blankman". Splinter is of reinforced type. Case hardened action with all correct markings on water table, features automatic safety and single selective Parker trigger. It is engraved in usual "A" style with near full coverage nicely cut varying sized scroll surrounding detailed vignettes of double dogs and game; pair of pointers on left center, with a flying grouse toward front, and a pair of setters on right center, with woodcock toward front. "PARKER" is engraved on bottom of action, and trigger plate has scene of pair of mallards settling into marsh. Action is filed with single beads around fences, and chevron on top lever. Trigger guard with scroll on bow, has SN on tang. Nicely fiddle figured and lightly marbled European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over skeleton steel buttplate. Stock has usual "A" style sunken checkered side panels with fleur-di-lis drop points, and fancy pattern checkering with fleur-di-lis intrusions toward comb. A large gold oval engraved "L. V. BLANKMAN" "PASADENA" "CALIFORNIA" is set into grip cap. Long beavertail ejector forend has reinforcing bolt and usual release. Iron is cyanide hardened. This gun matches most specifications as listed in the PARKER GUN IDENTIFICATION & SERIALIZATION ledger (no stock type given, and beavertail forend and ventilated rib are most likely later factory upgrades, note repair date code). Bore diameter: left -.730, right - .730. Bore restrictions: left - .037 (extra full), right - .034 (full). Wall thickness: left - .033, right - .031. Drop at heel: 2-13/16", drop at comb: 1-11/16". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 7 lbs. 9 oz. LOP: 14-1/4". Twin ivory bead sights. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Very fine, as partially refurbished. Bbls retain nearly all of a fine quality re-blue. Action retains approx 50 - 60% orig case hardening color, nicely silvered from normal hand wear on fences, beads, and around bottom. Buttstock retains over 90% of what is most likely an old factory refinish with a number of light marks and scratches. Forend retains nearly all of its finish, possibly with added oil. All checkering is lightly worn. Bores are excellent, some light striations in right bbl. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. Trigger works. All Parker "A" grades are scarce, with an estimated total of 306 hammerless guns, 18 12 bore with 28" Acme steel bbls. 50594-13 MGM113 (15,000-22,500)
