NIFTY HIGH CONDITION 20 GAUGE PARKER "BHE" SHOTGUN. PARKER SXS BHE 214919 20 GA MODERN; C&R; IVORY Cal. 20 ga. 2-9/16" Chambers. 0 Frame. 28" Bbls are marked with Parker's name and Meriden CT address, and "ACME STEEL", on matted game rib. Bbl flats are stamped with all correct markings. Case hardened action with all correct markings on water table, features automatic safety and dbl triggers, and is engraved in usual "B" style with 80% coverage nicely cut varying sized scroll surrounding detailed vignettes of game birds; pair of quail on left, a duck flying across marsh on right, and a pair of mallards flying across trigger plate. "PARKER BROS" is on rectangle on both sides of action. Action is filed with single beads around fences, and chevron on top lever. Trigger guard with scroll on bow, has SN on tang. Nicely streaked and fiddle figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/8" over brown Decelerator pad over 1-1/8" lengthening piece that has been matched fairly well. Stock has usual "B" style checkered side panels with fleur-di-lis drop points and fancy pattern wraparound checkering with fleur-di-lis intrusions toward comb. A gold oval with monogram "MOM" (?) is on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend is near fully checkered, and has usual steel tip and release. Ejector patent date is on iron. This gun matches specifications as listed in the PARKER GUN IDENTIFICATION & SERIALIZATION ledger. Bore diameter: left -.619, right - .615. Bore restrictions: left - .023 (IMod), right - .017 (mod). Wall thickness: left - .031, right - .030. Drop at heel: 2-3/4", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz. LOP: 14-3/8". Ivory bead sights. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, as partially refinished. Bbls retain approx 90% orig blue, silvered at muzzles, thinning on sides, with a number of light marks and scratches. Action retains approx 70% orig case hardening color, silvering from normal hand wear on fences, sharp edges, and around bottom. Stocks retain what appears to be some orig finish under some added oil and was cleaned up at time of addition of lengthening piece and pad. Lengthening piece has lightened in color, and is now more prominent than it probably was when first attached, checkering cleaned up. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors are strong and in time. A very rare Parker small bore gun, with only 29 estimated in this grade, caliber, and bbl length, with fewer than 150 total production in 20 gauge in all bbl sizes and types, according to THE PARKER STORY. 50594-18 MGM111 (15,000-25,000)
