20 GAUGE PARKER CHE SHOTGUN TWO BARREL SET WITH L O' M CASE. PARKER SXS CHE 180109 20 Ga MODERN; C&R; IVORY Cal. 20 ga. 2-5/8" Chambers. 0 Frame. 30" and 26" Bbls have flat, matted ribs marked with Parker's Meriden CT address, 30" are marked "ACME STEEL" and 26" "VULCAN STEEL", 26" Bbls have reinforced splinter. Bbl flats are stamped with grade, steel type, and weight. 26" bbls have Parker proofs. Left side of lumps are stamped with SN. Typical Parker action has all correct numbers and marks on water table. Action features automatic safety and nickel-plated checkered dbl triggers, and is engraved with 70 - 80% coverage scroll within geometric borders, surrounding vignettes of single dogs and game; A pointing pointer on left, and an alert setter on right side. "Parker Bros" is on riband at rear of both sides. A mallard flies across trigger plate. Trigger guard bow is scroll engraved. SN is at grip. Nicely stump figured European (?) walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over Silver type pad, fitted over spur from Parker buttplate. Stock is embellished in typical "C" grade style with lozenge shaped drop points and fancy pattern checkering at grip with mullered borders. A vacant silver oval is on toe line. 30" Bbls have matching splinter ejector forend with steel tip and typical Parker release. Ejector patent date is on iron. 26" Bbls are fitted with large, long, beavertail ejector forend with reinforcing bolt. 30" BBLS: Bore diameter: left -.620, right -.620. Bore restrictions: left -.022 (Imod), right -.025 (full). Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.029. Drop at heel: 2-1/16", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Weight: 6 lbs 8 oz. LOP: 14-1/4". 26" BBLS: Bore diameter: left -.617, right -.617. Bore restrictions: left -.020 (mod), right -.004 (IC). Wall thickness: left -.038, right -.035. Drop at heel: 2-1/8", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Weight: 6 lbs 14 oz. LOP: 14-1/4". This gun is listed in and matches the PARKER GUN IDENTIFICATION AND SERIALIZATION LEDGER (Later, second set of bbls not indicated). High quality Red Head embossed leg o' mutton leather case for two bbl set, is lined in green cloth. PROVENANCE: PCGA letter stating it was shipped on Apr 17 1918, confirming specifications with 30" bbls, no mention of later 26" bbls. CONDITION: Fine as partially refinished. Both sets of bbls retain an older sympathetic re-black. Action retains traces of case hardening color where protected, is mostly pewter gray. Screw slots show some use. Stocks retain nearly all of a hand rubbed oil finish, checkering competently re-cut. Newer pad fits over orig wood length. Bores are excellent, slightly frosted. Action is tight with both sets of bbls. Ejectors strong with both bbls and forends. Rib extension of 26" bbls shows some lifting, and has been secured with a set screw. Case leather is excellent, lid detached at hinge, needs stitching. A versatile high grade Parker small bore, which is quite rare, with only 21 CHE 20's with 30" Acme bbls listed in THE PARKER STORY.
