VERY RARE AND DESIRABLE PARKER CHE 20 GA SHOTGUN. PARKER CHE 175118 20 GA MODERN; C&R Cal. 20 Ga. 2-5/8" Cham. 30" Acme steel bbls with full length matted top rib and brass front bead and marked "Parker Bros. Makers Meriden, Conn. Acme Steel". 0 frame. Water table marked with SN and grade designation. Bbl flats marked with unstruck bbl weight of 3 lbs. 10 oz. and a large A notation for Acme steel. Double nickel plated triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Finely figured straight grip French walnut stock checkered in typical "C" grade pattern with checkering that comes to a point behind trigger guard tang and wraps around wrist in flowing wave pattern near receiver. Tarnished nickel oval near toe of stock and skeleton buttplate with fully checkered center. Splinter forearm checkered in standard "C" grade pattern with finely scroll engraved Deeley latch and steel tip. Receiver is very tastefully engraved with setters in full game scene on both sides surrounded by well cut Parker scroll and marked "Parker Bros." in straight line banner towards rear of frame. Breech balls and top lever are nicely scroll and geometric design engraved. Bottom of action nicely scroll engraved and trigger plate with large flying duck engraved which collectors of "C" grades will note as a rare and desirable pattern. Trigger guard bow is nicely scroll engraved and long tang with floral pattern border and SN noted. Bore diameter: left - .620, right - .618. Bore restrictions: left - .026 (full), right - .024 (IM MOD). Minimum wall thickness: left - .035, right - .039 . Weight: 6 lbs. 13 oz. Drop at comb: 1-9/16", drop at heel: 2-1/8". LOP: 14-1/8". PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Extremely fine as partially refurbished. Bbls retain 85-90% or more what appears to be their orig blued finish. Receiver has been expertly re-case colored though engraving is sharp and no detail has been lost. Case colors are truly an exceptional reproduction of Parker Meriden color. Buttstock and forearm are near mint retaining nearly all of their restored hand rubbed finish. Checkering is extremely sharp and feels basically unused since restoration. Trigger guard bow is mostly silvered though orig blue is present at back of tang behind SN and perhaps as much as 30-40%. Bores are excellent with minor orange peel. Mechanics are crisp, action is tight, ejectors are in time. This is really an outstanding long bbl, small bore, high grade Parker that with additional research may prove to have been ordered by one of the famed early duck clubs. 50594-3 JSL (12,500-22,500)
