LATE REMINGTON/PARKER GHE GRADE SHOTGUN IN HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION. PARKER SXS GHE 241817 12 GA MODERN; C&R Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 1-1/2 Frame. 30" Bbls are unmarked on matted game rib. Bbl flats are stamped with Oct 1940 Remington type markings including chokes (mod and full), proofs, grade, and chambers. Case hardened action features automatic safety and dbl triggers, and is engraved in the usual "G" style with sprays of scroll accenting oval vignettes of birds; ducks on left, quail on right, and grouse on trigger plate. "PARKER" is on bottom of action. Trigger guard with scroll on bow, has SN on tang. Nicely stump figured American walnut Parker Ilion capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8" over red NOSHOC pad, and has typical point pattern checkering at grip and German silver shield on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has usual steel tip and release. This gun is too late in manufacture to be listed in the PARKER GUN IDENTIFICATION & SERIALIZATION ledger. Bore diameter: left -.726, right - .726. Bore restrictions: left - .030 (full), right - .014 (mod). Wall thickness: left - .037, right - .038. Drop at heel: 2-1/2", drop at comb: 1-5/8". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz. LOP: 14-5/8". PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all of its orig factory finishes on wood and metal, but with considerable handling and storage marks as well as scratches, and evidence of very light field use. Bbls have a number of scratches 2" - 7" in front of forend tip. There is some high edge wear on action. Safety button is somewhat silvered. Blue of trigger guard is vibrant, with a scratch or two on bow, and light silvering on grip. Stocks have some finish checks, and storage marks from case, which are fairly heavy on right side of forend. Left side of butt has some fairly deep scratches in finish. Checkering shows little wear. Color on forend latch is somewhat faded. Bright blue of hinge pin is slightly silvered at bottoms. Bores are excellent. Mechanically crisp. A fine benchmark Parker. 50594-4 MGM110 (5,000-8,000)
