FINE LITTLE HIGH CONDITION 28 BORE PARKER "VH" SHOTGUN WITH HANG TAGS.PARKERSXS VH23309928GAMODERN; C&RCal. 28 ga. 2-1/2" Chambers. 00 Frame. 26" Bbls are marked with Parker's Meriden CT address and "VULCAN STEEL" on matted rib. Bbl flats are stamped with usual Parker markings and proofs. Case hardened action with all correct markings on water table which has lightening cuts, features automatic safety and dbl triggers. It is engraved in usual "V" style with wiggle borders and screw surrounds. "PARKER BROS" is engraved on both sides of action. Blued trigger guard has SN on tang. Plain American walnut Parker Meriden capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8" over Parker dogs head buttplate. Stock has usual "V" style point pattern checkering. A vacant German silver shield is on toe line. Typical splinter forend has usual release. This gun matches specifications listed in the PARKER GUN IDENTIFICATION & SERIALIZATION ledger. Bore diameter: left -.550, right - .550. Bore restrictions: left - .023 (full), right - .016 (mod). Wall thickness: left - .029, right - .024. Drop at heel: 2-3/4", drop at comb: 1-9/16". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 5 lbs. 10 oz. LOP: 14-1/8". Gun is accompanied by two hang tags, each with instructions on one side and schematic mechanical drawing on the other side. No specifications listed. PROVENANCE: Hang tags. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain over 95% orig blue with some light scratches and nicks. Action retains approx 90% orig case hardening color, strong on top and sides, fading to silver and thinning on bottom, which also has a few small areas of flecking. Blue of trigger guard has flaked to about 40%. Color on forend latch has mostly gone to silver, but some hints of color are visible. Hinge pin retains about half of its bright blue. Stocks retain over 95% orig varnish, some areas worn through at comb, with a number of small marks, and a 4" long compression scratch on right side of buttstock. Checkering is lightly worn.
