INTERESTING FULLY CUSTOMIZED ITHACA LEFEVER SINGLE BARREL TRAP, TWO BARREL SET.LEFEVERSBT2040112 GAMODERN; C&R; IVORYCal. 12 ga. (1) 32" bbls with 2-3/4" chamber. Full length matted ventilated rib with ivory front and mid bead. (2) 27-1/2" bbls with 2-3/4" chamber with ivory front and mid bead. Water table with SN and gauge stamping. Bbl flats with SN. Fully and fancifully carved straight grip buttstock. Scroll and rose carving at head of stock down through wrist and fancy chain link pattern around end of butt. No safety. Single forearm is fully carved in rose & scroll pattern with initials "SJ" carved in teardrop in center and triangular border pattern carved on all sides. Receiver appears chrome plated and is fully custom light scroll engraved around 2 setters on right and duck on left. Bottom of receiver with large name engraved "CHAILLE JAMISON". Breech end of bbl set 1 is fully engraved with light scroll and initials "SJC" on left and cross engraved on right. Butt has thin red recoil pad. Also included is a tooled Leg-O-Mutton case which will house this gun and one bbl set. Dr. Chaille Jamison is the grandson of Dr. Stanford Emerson Chaille who became Surgeon General of Louisiana and later entered the Confederate Army and served as a surgeon until the close of the war. Included with the gun is a small research file on Dr. Jamison including some notes on family history and his accomplishments, which interested parties should peruse. Dr. Jamison had a distinguished medical career throughout Louisiana and must have truly treasured this gun as he had substantially more workmanship put into the gun than its intrinsic collector value. CONDITION: Excellent as totally customized. Bbl set #1 retains most of a professionally restored blued finish. Bbl set #2 retains most of its orig rust blued finish. Receiver as plated is excellent. Buttstock has beautifully reworked and customized retains most of its custom finish with light handling marks throughout. Bores are excellent. Case is very good with minor losses on leather. Strap is torn and shows handling marks throughout. Weight with bbl set #1, 7 lbs. 9 oz. 51033-39 TEP (1,000-3,000)
