Tops of bbls very faintly marked "L.C. Smith Maker Syracuse N.Y." on left tube and "Fine Damascus Steel" on right tube near breech. Stout action with SN noted on water table and bbl flats. Sidelocks are beautifully engraved most likely by Spangler with setter in large circle on left, pair of pointers in marsh scene in circle on right, surrounded by light scroll and marked "L.C. CONDITION: Excellent as restored. Bbls retain nearly all of an excellent professional quality restoration and show great pattern which is bold and vivid. Bores with some pits and roughness throughout. Receiver is very good with scattered staining and light oxidation. No orig case color remains, however engraving still mostly clear and present, particularly beautiful are the game scenes on the side blocks. Buttstock & forearm are excellent as professionally restored. Checkering is crisp. Buttplate is still legible, though worn. Lever is slightly left of center. Case is very good as is cleaning rod. This is an extremely rare gun. 50933-1 JSL (10,000-15,000)
