A.H. FOX XE GRADE SHOTGUN. A.H. FOX XE 26238 12GA MODERN; C&R; IVORY Cal. 12 ga. 28" #4 WT bbls, 2-3/4" chambers, IC/F chokes. Twin ivory beads. Engraved wedges at breeches. Beautifully engraved XE ejector receiver with 2 ducks on left side, 2 quail on right side & high head fox on belly. Filed breech balls. Top tang lock screw. Double triggers. Auto ejectors. XE Style long splinter forend with fluted ebony tip. Half pistol grip. Red White Line vented pad. LOP 14-1/4" over pad. DAC 1-1/2". DAH 2-5/8". Auto safety. CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain most of their blue which was likely reapplied years ago, bbl wedge engraving slightly muted. Dings on underside of both bbls approx 14" from muzzle. Bright mirror bores with dings showing through. Receiver, trigger bow & forend metal are devoid of most of its color & toning to patinaed silver. Engraving remains sharp. Screws are nice. Wood remains sound with light checkering. Underside of forend with slight bumps & grain check by metal. Buttstock fits nicely with some light chipping along top tang. Rear portion of buttstock showing light refinish after pad fitted. Minor bumps & bruises. Top lever right. Gun is tight, crisp mechanics, strong ejectors. 51026-2 TJW (6,500-11,000)
