EXQUISITE 20 GAUGE CSMC A.H. FOX "FE SPECIAL" BOXLOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH EXCEPTIONAL FLUSH GOLD ACANTHUS SCROLL AND FOUR COLOR GOLD INLAID GAME BIRDS BY CLAUDIO CREMINI, AND CASE. CSMC FOX SXS FE SPECIAL F205863 20 GA MODERN Cal. 20 ga. 30" Bbls with slightly raised, matted game rib, are engraved "Made to Order, A. H. Fox" "Krupp - Fluid - Steel" on tops. There are gold inlaid flourishes of scroll at breech ends. Bbl flats are stamped with grade, Fox proof, SN, and gauge. Manufacturers name and address are on loop. Small sized, scroll back, case hardened Fox action with patent dates stamped and SN and grade gold inlaid on water table, features automatic safety (S inlaid in gold) and gold plated dbl triggers. Action is beautifully gold inlaid with attenuated acanthus scroll with large foliate accents around bottom and top. Fences have a denser pattern of leaves. "A. H. FOX" "U.S.A." are in gold on bottom. This fine gold work surrounds bird scenes on sides of action with major subjects inlaid in three colors of gold, with engraved backgrounds; a pheasant with red gold head and feet, white gold wing, and light colored gold ring around neck, is on left, with a quail with white gold breast and head, dark yellow gold back and tail, and light gold feet and beak, is on right. This striking and exceptionally well rendered work is by the noted master, Claudio Cremini, whose signature is on trigger plate. This fine gold work continues onto trigger guard bow, and to tang, with SN. Very fine broad marbled and nicely stump figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over skeleton steel buttplate. Center portion of wood is nicely checkered, and plate continues gold inlay theme. Exceptional, very fancy pattern, borderless, closely spaced checkering is at grip, with three panels separated by ribbons, two forward panels have intrusions, central panel fleur-di-lis; all on classic diamond grip. Matching ejector slim beavertail forend with more gold on latch and exterior of iron, has interior stamped with patent dates, and gold inlaid with SN and grade. Bore diameter: left -.619, right - .619. Bore restrictions: left - .013 (lt mod), right - .007 (IC). Drop at heel: 2-9/16", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Cast: approx 1/4" on. Weight: 6 lbs. 4 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". High quality oak & brown leather case with brass corners, is lined in burgundy cloth, with paper Fox label in lid. Case contains 2-pc rosewood and brass cleaning rod, straps, and a key. CONDITION: Excellent, essentially as new, with only a few handling and assembly marks on wood and metal. Mechanically crisp. Leather of case has some scuffs.
