FN BROWNING SUPERPOSED D4G "SUPERLIGHT" SHOTGUN ENGRAVED BY WATRIN AND VRANKEN. FN BROWNING SUPERPOSED D4G LIGHTWEIGHT 49212S6 12 GA MODERN Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 27-1/2" Bbls are unmarked for choke, and engraved with FN name and address on left side of top bbl, and are fitted with unusual solid matted rib. Coin finished "Superlight" type action with unplated single selective trigger is engraved with full coverage attenuated open scroll with dark stippled backgrounds surrounding well cut game scenes on sides; trio of flushing pheasant on left, and another three ducks erupting from marsh on right. Pheasant scene is signed "Vranken" on bottom rear. Trigger plate is signed "A Watrin" who most likely did the scroll, and "L. Vranken" who undoubtedly did the very fine game scenes. Strikingly marbled and nicely figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over skip line checkered wood butt. Side panels have fluted drop points. Closely spaced point pattern checkering wraps over grip. 3-Pc Schnabeled "Superlight" forend matches well. Bore diameter: top -.722, bottom - .722. Bore restrictions: top - .036 (full), bottom - .017 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-1/2", drop at comb: 1-1/2". Weight: 6 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, essentially as new, with exceptionally light firing halos on breechface, and a few of the faintest of handling marks on wood and metal.
