SCARCE FN BROWNING SUPERPOSED D2 "CARNABY" SHOTGUN. FN BROWNING SUPERPOSED OU D2 33637S5 12 GA MODERN; IVORY Cal. 12 ga. 30" Bbls with raised, matted, ventilated rib are unmarked for choke, and are engraved with FN name and address on left side of top bbl. Case hardened "Superlight" type OU action is fitted with very unusual non-automatic safety and dbl triggers. Action is engraved with well cut, attractive rose and scroll, which appears to be unsigned. Finely marbled and lightly figured European walnut long tang round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8" over Silver type pad, and features rounded drop points, and closely spaced point pattern checkering with line borders that wrap over top of grip. Nicely matching 3-pc schnabeled "Superlight" forend has typical sliding latch. Bore diameter: top -.722, bottom - .721. Bore restrictions: top - .038 (full), bottom - .038 (full). Drop at heel: 1-7/16", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Cast: neutral. Weight: 7 lbs. 8 oz. LOP: 14-5/8". Twin ivory bead sights. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, with light wear, as associated with casual field use. Bbls have a hint of silvering, and assembly marks. Sharp edges of action is silvered. Blue is fading on trigger guard tang. Stocks is excellent, possibly refinished, with one or two subsequent very light marks. Mechanically excellent. 50594-48 MGM312 (6,000-10,000)
