EXCELLENT WINCHESTER MODEL 42 SHOTGUN WITH BOX.WINCHESTER4272861410MODERN; C&RCal. 410 ga. 3" chambers with 28" bbl. Choke marked "Modified" with steel front bead. Standard grade Model 42 with appropriate early bbl markings noted. Serrated lined forearm with 14 notches on each side. Frame and bbls are blued. Replacement American walnut buttstock with Pre-war style pistol grip and checkered "Winchester Repeating Arms Co." buttplate. Included with gun is a proper Winchester Model 42 picture cardboard box with appropriate end label identifying this gun by SN. Included in the box is a small wooden dowel and an instruction sheet for using the 3 shell magazine plug and the 10 Commandments of Safety, which is a small fold-out designed for the "Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute". Attached to the trigger guard of this gun is an old incomplete warranty tag from Winchester. Also included in box is old oil paper to protect gun. CONDITION: Exceptional, near new and doesn't appear to have been used. Bbl & frame retain nearly all of their bright orig blue. Slide retains about 90-95% orig finish with minute scratches and some very minor wear, mostly from handling, not from use. Buttstock is an extremely well done replacement and retains virtually all of its custom finish. Forearm is orig and exceptional and retains most of its oil finish with only minute handling marks. Box is very good with minor scuffing. Labels are excellent with some chipping on sides. Box top with 2 broken corners. An exceptional Model 42. 51033-87 JSL (2,000-4,000)
