Multi-branched iron basket still retains traces of gold wash in protected areas. Pommel is cast brass "cat's head" with raised relief mustachioed face. The grip is wood covered by cord, spirally wrapped with sharkskin. This is a very fine example of an orig 18th century schiavona with great aesthetics and condition.
