MODERN; C&R - HIGH QUALITY AYA MODEL 37 SUPER DETACHABLE SIDELOCK EJECTOR OVER-UNDER GAME GUN.SN: 68488. (1952) Cal. 16 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 28-1/2" Mono-bloc bbls are fitted with matted, ventilated rib, and have makers name, address, and steel type engraved on mono-bloc, which also has an outline in band of large scroll. Bottom bbl is stamped with 1952 Spanish nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Coin finished Merkel type hand detachable sidelock O/U action features automatic safety (S inlaid in gold), dbl Kersten top fastener, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, and dbl triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with nearly full coverage well cut shaded scroll, with makers name on left side. Lockplates are fully game scene engraved; with flock of ducks erupting from marsh on left plate, and a group of pheasant, some standing, others flying over a clearing, on right. AYA logo is gold inlaid on top lever. Blued single beaded trigger guard has scroll on bow and SN on tang. Well figured and streaked European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over more recent brown Old English pad w/ 1/4" spacer, and features drop points and diamond hand with well cut point pattern checkering with mullered borders. Matching 3-pc ejector forend has Deeley type release. Interior of iron is engine turned. Bore diameter: top -.660, bottom - .660. Bore restrictions: top - .021 (mod), bottom - .012 (lt mod). Wall thickness: top - .022, bottom - .028. Drop at heel: 2-3/8", drop at comb: 1-7/16". Cast: Neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". Bbls retain over 95% of what appears to be orig blue. Coin finish of action has darkened a bit over the years from accumulated oil. Stocks retain most of their finish, with some additional finish added to butt at time the pad was replaced. Checkering lightly worn. Bores are excellent. Action is tight.
